Kim Hoogterp, (1989)
A dance artist, dramaturg and graphic designer based in Amsterdam.
From an early age she was fascinated by movement and trained intensively in dance and gymnastics. Later this fascination concentrated on dance and performance art when she studied Modern and Dancetheatre at Fontys danceacademy.
In her third year she started to work as an intern for Gabriella Maiorino for the productions Supernova and Supernova 3#. After graduating she continued to work as a dancer with Gabriella Maiorino/CLANCARNAL for the productions Supernova 4# (2013), ZERO ZERO (2013/2014), Cinematic:1. KIM (2014) and as assistant for Aurora (2014) and Fremdkörper (2015).
As a freelance dancer she worked with several choreographers like Lana Çoporda, Mouna Laroussi, Annemijn Rijk, Iris van Peppen. Since 2019 she also works as a performer for visual artist Iris Woutera. She has been involved in several projects that performed at festivals and events like TheaterFestival Boulevard, Museumnacht Amsterdam, Art Rotterdam, Nuit Blanche (FR), Festival Diffirenti Sensazioni (IT), (Ammutinamenti Festival (IT) and Over het IJ Festival in Amsterdam.
She develops her own work and her solo RAGMANROLLS (2013) was selected for: Choreo-Graphic-Selection of the ITs Festival 2014, Solofestival in Lissabon (PT) 2014 and ACT Festival in Bilbao (ES) 2015.
In 2021 she obtained her MA in contemporary theatre, dance, and dramaturgy from Utrecht University. Since then, she had been working as a freelance dramaturg for cyrwheel artist Natalie Miles.
Since 2022, she started to combine her practice as a dance artist with freelance graphic design work. She has experience with designing PR material for theatre and dance projects.
